Gratitude + Detox Yoga Flow

You know it’s coming and you try to be prepared – plan ahead, save money, not stress. Yet, somehow the last six weeks of every year have us feeling too busy and bloated to enjoy all of the bliss. In the midst of gatherings, gift giving and gluttony, our bodies take on stressors we’re not used to and it makes us feel mentally and physically unhinged.   This doesn’t mean the holiday season is completely toxic or shouldn’t be celebrated. It’s just a matter of choosing to slow down and stay present. Even too much of a good thing can [...]

How you end is how you begin

It’s hard to believe the year is almost over. Where does the time go? Before we know it, we’ll be shouting the countdown to a New Year. January 1 marks the beginning of the year while millions of people rush to begin again by setting resolutions that soon dissipate into thin air.   I’ve got a new plan for you.   Life is cyclical – the seasons are proof of this. So instead of hard starts and stops, let’s ever evolve into the beings we’re meant to be. If you want to see change, you must do the change [...]

How to bring your chakras into harmony

by Belinda Pearl What does it mean to be in this body and in this life? Do you remember the true causal reason for being incarnated? There are many questions to contemplate when we think about life, and the many wondrous mechanisms that bring us to our fullness. I urge you to welcome the unsettledness of these far-and-few-between days. To me, these days can be a gift – making me grateful for the abundance of good days I do have. I don’t try to overcorrect the feeling or dwell either. [...]

Getting RAW with Micaela Malmi

You probably know her work because she is one of our favorite photographers to work with. And we know her heart because of the integrity and passion she exudes as an artist, community member and friend. She understands alignment, how to get the right angles of the right poses, and how to capture the essence of an individual in one still frame. Micaela captures the magic behind our Encinitas yoga teacher trainings and the fun on our yoga retreats.   There’s more to [...]

Lessons learned from off the mat and into the jungle

Returning from a yoga retreat is both wonderful and dreadful. I’m eager to take all of the reflective thoughts and regained energy from the retreat and infuse it into daily life. On the other hand, leaving paradise is never easy – it’s back to routine.   White Peacock Yoga hosts an annual yoga retreat to Costa Rica. We’ve been doing it for years because we love the Pura Vida way and the rich jungle ceases to amaze us. It’s hard not to reflect on the time away. In fact, it’s a must. Every journey deserves recognition. So what did I [...]
